Hebrews

June 5, 2026 · 22 tracks · 2 hrs 23 mins

HEBREWS is the latest entry in Resonate the Word's ongoing Bible Book Series, a collection of full-length albums that take listeners on a complete musical journey through individual books of the Bible, passage by passage, theme by theme.

The epistle to the Hebrews is one of the most theologically rich and beautifully argued writings in all of Scripture. Written to Jewish Christians in danger of drifting from their faith, the anonymous author, inspired by the Holy Spirit, presents a sweeping, majestic case for the absolute supremacy and sufficiency of Jesus Christ. He is better than the angels, better than Moses, better than the Levitical priesthood. His sacrifice is once for all. His covenant is new and eternal. And He calls His people to hold fast, to draw near, and to run the race set before them with endurance.

This album brings that timeless argument to life through 22 original songs, following the book of Hebrews from its soaring opening ("God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past...") to its closing benediction. Each track is grounded in the actual text and theology of Hebrews, composed to be both scripturally faithful and emotionally resonant.

Musically, HEBREWS draws from a wide palette. Traditional hymns and contemporary worship anthems anchor the album, but the subject matter demands more, and receives it. You'll find cinematic orchestral swells as God speaks through His Son, gospel fire as the cloud of witnesses cheers us on, blues-drenched lament at the warnings of a hardened heart, rock anthems declaring the once-for-all sacrifice, hip-hop cadences unpacking the Hall of Faith, and intimate acoustic moments of drawing near to the throne of grace. The music serves the message.

HEBREWS is designed to be listened to as a complete journey, an album-length worship experience and a theological meditation set to music. It is for the believer who needs to be reminded of what they already have in Christ. It is for the one who is weary and tempted to drift. It is for the church that needs to lift its eyes back to the Author and Finisher of our faith.

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."

    In These Last Days

    Hebrews 1:1-3

    Lyrics

Long ago and many times before God would speak through prophets, dreams, and visions Through the burning bush and in the roar Of thunderclouds and heavenly provision But the word He sent was partial then A shadow of the fullness yet to come Now the final Word has entered in God has spoken...He has sent His Son In these last days, He spoke to us in His Son Appointed heir of everything under the sun The radiance of His glory, His exact imprint and face Sustaining all creation by the power of His grace He made purification for the sins of all mankind Then He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty divine In these last days...God has spoken In these last days...the silence is broken Through His Son He is higher than the heights of heaven Brighter than the morning star's first light He was there before the days were given Calling forth the darkness into light Through Him all the ages were created The universe is held in His command Every power bows and is prostrated When they see the work of His holy hand In these last days, He spoke to us in His Son Appointed heir of everything under the sun The radiance of His glory, His exact imprint and face Sustaining all creation by the power of His grace He made purification for the sins of all mankind Then He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty divine In these last days...God has spoken In these last days...the silence is broken Through His Son Every word the prophets ever uttered Every promise written on the scroll Every covenant and vow was covered In the Son who came to make us whole He is God's complete and final saying The full expression of the Father's will Every tongue and every nation praising The One whose word is echoing still In these last days, He spoke to us in His Son Appointed heir of everything under the sun The radiance of His glory, His exact imprint and face Sustaining all creation by the power of His grace He made purification for the sins of all mankind Then He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty divine In these last days...God has spoken In these last days...the silence is broken Through His Son He is the Word made flesh He is the final breath of God The Father's own express He carried our weight and our cost The image of the invisible God The firstborn of all that was made Sustaining creation with His word His glory will never, never fade In these last days, He spoke to us in His Son Appointed heir of everything under the sun The radiance of His glory, His exact imprint and face Sustaining all creation by the power of His grace He made purification for the sins of all mankind Then He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty divine In these last days...God has spoken In these last days...the silence is broken Through His Son In these last days He spoke through His Son In these last days His will has been done

    Better Than Angels

    Hebrews 1:4-2:18

    Lyrics

To which of the angels did God ever say You are My Son, this is Your glorious day Or I will be Father and you will be Son Was any angel given glory like this one When the firstborn came into the world in His might Every angel fell down and worshiped the light For He is the Lord and they serve at His throne The King of all glory...He sits there alone Better than angels, higher than the highest name Better than angels, eternally the same The Son of the Father, the King of the throne Every angel bows down...He reigns alone Better than angels, the name above all names The angels are winds and the flames of the fire His throne is forever, exalted and higher He laid the foundations and made the earth new His years have no ending, no changing, no due He said to the Son, Sit at My right hand While I make your enemies a stool and a stand What angel was ever given that command The scepter of righteousness placed in His hand Better than angels, higher than the highest name Better than angels, eternally the same The Son of the Father, the King of the throne Every angel bows down...He reigns alone Better than angels, the name above all names Yet for a little while He was made lower Taking on our flesh so He could know us He tasted death for every single soul The Author of salvation, making many holy Through His death He broke the power of death Released those enslaved with every living breath He is not ashamed to call us all His brothers He came to help us...He chose us over others Better than angels, higher than the highest name Better than angels, eternally the same The Son of the Father, the King of the throne Every angel bows down...He reigns alone Better than angels, the name above all names A merciful and faithful High Priest now He stands Interceding with His nail-scarred hands He suffered when tempted and He knows the cost He came to save the ones who were nearly lost Not the nature of angels did He come to save But the seed of Abraham He raised from the grave So we can come boldly to the throne of grace And find our help and mercy face to face Better than angels, higher than the highest name Better than angels, eternally the same The Son of the Father, the King of the throne Every angel bows down...He reigns alone Better than angels, the name above all names Holy, holy, worthy is the Son Holy, holy, the battle has been won Every knee will bow and every tongue confess Jesus is the Lord above all the rest Better than angels, higher than the highest name Better than angels, eternally the same The Son of the Father, the King of the throne Every angel bows down...He reigns alone Better than angels, the name above all names Better than angels His name above all names Better than angels Forever He reigns

    Fix Your Eyes

    Hebrews 3:1-6

    Lyrics

Holy brothers, sharers in the call The heavenly calling given to us all Consider Jesus, apostle of our faith High Priest of our confession, full of grace He was faithful to the One who sent Him here As Moses was faithful in the house he held dear But Moses served as servant in the hall While Jesus built the house and owns it all So turn your gaze, lift your eyes There's only One who satisfies Fix your eyes on Jesus The Apostle of our faith Fix your eyes on Jesus The One who bears our weight Greater than the greatest Who ever walked this earth Fix your eyes on Jesus And hold onto His worth Moses gave his life to bear the word Every faithful thing that Israel heard He testified to things that were to come The promises of God fulfilled in His Son But we are now the house that He is building The living stones being placed in their filling If we hold our courage and our hope held high We are His house under His great sky So turn your gaze, lift your eyes There's only One who satisfies Fix your eyes on Jesus The Apostle of our faith Fix your eyes on Jesus The One who bears our weight Greater than the greatest Who ever walked this earth Fix your eyes on Jesus And hold onto His worth When the weight of this world tries to pull me down When the noise of the age wants to spin me around I come back to the One who is always the same The faithful Son of God, the Author of my name I won't look to the left or the right anymore There's only one face that I'm looking toward He is worthy of all of my attention today So I set my eyes on Jesus and I pray So turn your gaze, lift your eyes There's only One who satisfies Fix your eyes on Jesus The Apostle of our faith Fix your eyes on Jesus The One who bears our weight Greater than the greatest Who ever walked this earth Fix your eyes on Jesus And hold onto His worth Moses was a servant in the house of God We are sons and daughters...covered by His blood The builder and the house...He holds them both He is worthy of more glory than a servant's post So when the world and all its heroes call my name I remember there is One above every claim The Apostle and High Priest of what I confess Is the only One I'm running to...nothing less So turn your gaze, lift your eyes There's only One who satisfies Fix your eyes on Jesus The Apostle of our faith Fix your eyes on Jesus The One who bears our weight Greater than the greatest Who ever walked this earth Fix your eyes on Jesus And hold onto His worth You are the one my soul is looking for You are the one that I am living for All my confidence is resting on Your name The hope of my salvation, always the same Jesus, Jesus, my eyes are on You Jesus, Jesus, there's only You Fix your eyes on Jesus Fix your eyes on Jesus Fix your eyes on Jesus Fix your eyes Fix your eyes on Jesus Fix your eyes on Jesus Fix your eyes on Jesus Fix your eyes on Him

    Harden Not Your Hearts

    Hebrews 3:7-4:13; Psalm 95:7-11

    Lyrics

The Spirit is speaking... Are you listening today... Today if you hear His voice calling out your name Don't you let your heart grow cold and hard again They heard His voice in the wilderness long ago But their hearts were stone...and that's a painful road They saw the miracles, the manna, and the cloud They heard the voice of God, they heard it strong and loud But they hardened themselves and they turned away And God swore in His wrath...they won't see My day Harden not your hearts Like they did in the rebellion Harden not your hearts Today is the day He's calling Don't you drift away from the living God Don't you let the sin deceive you on this road There's still a today, and the voice is clear Harden not your hearts...He's calling you here Forty years He watched them wander through the sand Forty years He stretched out His mighty hand But they always strayed and turned from what was right So He closed the door and shut off their light He swore in His anger, They will not enter rest Their bodies fell in the wilderness possessed By unbelief...the greatest killer of the soul It starts with a hardening and leaves you in a hole Harden not your hearts Like they did in the rebellion Harden not your hearts Today is the day He's calling Don't you drift away from the living God Don't you let the sin deceive you on this road There's still a today, and the voice is clear Harden not your hearts...He's calling you here So encourage one another every single day While the word today still echoes in this place Examine yourself, make sure that you still stand In the faith of the Son with your life in His hand The Word of God is living and it cuts right through It knows every thought and every intention true There's nowhere you can hide from His searching eyes Every secret soul is naked to His sight Harden not your hearts Like they did in the rebellion Harden not your hearts Today is the day He's calling Don't you drift away from the living God Don't you let the sin deceive you on this road There's still a today, and the voice is clear Harden not your hearts...He's calling you here I have seen men who started out so strong Singing every word, singing every song But somewhere down the road something pulled them back And the hardening started...slow...but the road went black Don't let that be you, don't let that be me Hold fast to the truth and we'll be free The deceitfulness of sin is a subtle game It starts with a whisper and ends with shame Harden not your hearts Like they did in the rebellion Harden not your hearts Today is the day He's calling Don't you drift away from the living God Don't you let the sin deceive you on this road There's still a today, and the voice is clear Harden not your hearts...He's calling you here Today...do you hear Him calling Today...before another sun goes down Today...He's holding out His mercy Today...before your heart hardens in this ground Don't let unbelief rob you of your rest Don't let the wilderness become your grave The promised rest of God is still before you Come back to the One who came to save Harden not your hearts Like they did in the rebellion Harden not your hearts Today is the day He's calling Don't you drift away from the living God Don't you let the sin deceive you on this road There's still a today, and the voice is clear Harden not your hearts...He's calling you here Today, today If you hear His voice Today, today Don't harden your heart

    The Rest That Remains

    Hebrews 4:1-11

    Lyrics

There is a rest prepared for the weary soul A Sabbath rest still waiting to be known Not the rest of Canaan and the promised land Something greater, something held by God's own hand God rested on the seventh day from all His works And He promised rest to those who hear and trust But when they heard the word with unbelief They never entered in...they forfeited that peace There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you A Sabbath rest remaining Cease from all you do Come and lay your burdens at the Father's feet Rest in the finished work of Christ complete There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you Long after Joshua led them to the land David spoke again of rest that was at hand Today if you hear His voice, come in, don't delay There is still a rest that hasn't come your way So the rest was not in Canaan after all It wasn't in the crossing of the Jordan's wall There remains a rest for all the people of God A ceasing from our labor...enter, trust, and pause There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you A Sabbath rest remaining Cease from all you do Come and lay your burdens at the Father's feet Rest in the finished work of Christ complete There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you Let us then be eager to enter into rest Not falling through unbelief like those who were tested For the Word is living and it cuts through the bone And every heart is naked before the throne We must cease from our own works as God ceased from His Stop the striving and the earning and the labor of this The rest that remains is a ceasing and a trust A faith that leans on Jesus...not our own fists There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you A Sabbath rest remaining Cease from all you do Come and lay your burdens at the Father's feet Rest in the finished work of Christ complete There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you Come all you who labor and are heavy laden Come all you who carry weights you shouldn't carry He said My yoke is easy and My burden is light Find your rest in Me and everything is right This is the rest the Father always planned From before the seventh day of His creation span A rest found only in the Son who paid the cost Where striving ends and nothing more is lost There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you A Sabbath rest remaining Cease from all you do Come and lay your burdens at the Father's feet Rest in the finished work of Christ complete There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you I was tired of carrying the weight of my own trying I was worn out from the striving and the climbing Then I heard Him say, Come, lay it all down And I found rest...I finally found ground In the arms of the One who did it all for me The rest that remains...that rest has set me free There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you A Sabbath rest remaining Cease from all you do Come and lay your burdens at the Father's feet Rest in the finished work of Christ complete There is rest, there is rest There is rest for you There is rest There is rest Rest for you

    Living and Active

    Hebrews 4:12-13

    Lyrics

It's not a story locked in pages of the past Not a relic of a culture that was meant to never last Not a fable that a teacher told to make us feel alright It's a living, breathing voice that cuts right through the night It divides the soul from spirit, joints from marrow clean Sharper than a double-bladed sword, cutting in between Discerning every thought and every deep intention's root There is no hiding from the Word...it speaks the truth Living and active, sharper than a two-edged sword Living and active...this is the living Word of God It pierces through the darkness, it cuts through all the lies Living and active, alive before our eyes Nothing is hidden, all is naked and exposed Before the eyes of Him to whom the account is owed Living and active...this is the Word of God Living and active...living, living, active, alive It spoke the world to being out of nothing in the void It silenced every storm and every enemy destroyed It raised the dead and cleansed the leper, healed the blind man's sight It descended to the tomb and came back blazing into light You can try to ignore it, you can put it on the shelf But the Word of God will find you...it always finds itself Into every generation, into every year and age God's Word is still standing, still burning, still on stage Living and active, sharper than a two-edged sword Living and active...this is the living Word of God It pierces through the darkness, it cuts through all the lies Living and active, alive before our eyes Nothing is hidden, all is naked and exposed Before the eyes of Him to whom the account is owed Living and active...this is the Word of God Living and active...living, living, active, alive Every creature is naked and exposed before His eyes Not a shadow or a secret can survive under His light To Him we must give account...we will all stand in that day But the Word that judges also shows us the way So let it do its work in every hidden part of you Let it expose and heal the things you never knew Don't be afraid of what the sword of the Spirit brings It wounds to heal and cuts to free and breaks to make you sing Living and active, sharper than a two-edged sword Living and active...this is the living Word of God It pierces through the darkness, it cuts through all the lies Living and active, alive before our eyes Nothing is hidden, all is naked and exposed Before the eyes of Him to whom the account is owed Living and active...this is the Word of God Living and active...living, living, active, alive When the culture says it's outdated, past its prime When they say the Word of God has had its time Let the Word speak for itself...it always has and will Every mountain it has faced it conquered and is still Heaven and earth will pass away, He said it plain But the Word of God will stand when nothing else remains So open up the book and let it speak to you today The living and active Word will never go away Living and active, sharper than a two-edged sword Living and active...this is the living Word of God It pierces through the darkness, it cuts through all the lies Living and active, alive before our eyes Nothing is hidden, all is naked and exposed Before the eyes of Him to whom the account is owed Living and active...this is the Word of God Living and active...living, living, active, alive The Word of God stands forever The Word of God never fails Through every age and every season The Word of God prevails Living and active, sharper than a two-edged sword Living and active...this is the living Word of God It pierces through the darkness, it cuts through all the lies Living and active, alive before our eyes Nothing is hidden, all is naked and exposed Before the eyes of Him to whom the account is owed Living and active...this is the Word of God Living and active...living, living, active, alive Living and active Living and active The Word of God...alive

    Hold Fast the Hope

    Hebrews 6:9-20

    Lyrics

Though the warning has been spoken and the road has been hard And the days have stretched much longer than I thought at the start God is not unjust, He won't forget Every work of love and faith is not finished yet He remembers every service done in His name Every labor that you gave Him through the joy and the pain So be patient and keep walking...don't give up now The God who made the promise will fulfill His vow Hold fast the hope It is an anchor for the soul Hold fast the hope Sure and steadfast, making whole We have fled to lay our hold On the refuge of His promise and His word God has sworn by His own name His purpose stands...His mercy remains Hold fast the hope Two unchangeable things...His word and His oath He confirmed it to Abraham and He confirms it to us both That through patient endurance we inherit what He's given Not by works or striving but by faith in what is written The anchor holds behind the veil Where Jesus went before us, where the curtain is unveiled The forerunner has entered...He has opened up the way A priest forever, He is interceding every day Hold fast the hope It is an anchor for the soul Hold fast the hope Sure and steadfast, making whole We have fled to lay our hold On the refuge of His promise and His word God has sworn by His own name His purpose stands...His mercy remains Hold fast the hope When the storm comes and the waves are crashing high And it feels like everything is pulling you inside When the world and all its voices say give up and move on And the enemy is whispering that everything is gone I go back to the anchor, the unchanging word I go back to the promise of the promises I've heard God cannot lie...it's impossible for Him My hope is held by One who'll never fail or bend Hold fast the hope It is an anchor for the soul Hold fast the hope Sure and steadfast, making whole We have fled to lay our hold On the refuge of His promise and His word God has sworn by His own name His purpose stands...His mercy remains Hold fast the hope Abraham waited patiently for what God had said Twenty-five long years before the promise filled his head He did not waver in unbelief...he held on strong And God was faithful...it came in His timing all along I will be like Abraham, I will hold the rope I will anchor in the heavens in the sure and living hope That He who promised is the One who will fulfill Every word He's ever spoken...He is faithful still Hold fast the hope It is an anchor for the soul Hold fast the hope Sure and steadfast, making whole We have fled to lay our hold On the refuge of His promise and His word God has sworn by His own name His purpose stands...His mercy remains Hold fast the hope This hope I have is not a wish It's not a feeling, it's more than this It's the anchor of the soul going behind the veil Where Jesus sits, where Jesus reigns, where Jesus never fails He is my anchor, He is my hope He holds me steady when I cannot hold The forerunner has entered...and He's keeping me By the power of His blood and His eternity Hold fast the hope It is an anchor for the soul Hold fast the hope Sure and steadfast, making whole We have fled to lay our hold On the refuge of His promise and His word God has sworn by His own name His purpose stands...His mercy remains Hold fast the hope Hold fast the hope He is faithful Hold fast the hope He never fails

    The Order of Melchizedek

    Hebrews 7:1-28; Genesis 14:17-20; Psalm 110:4

    Lyrics

He came from Salem...king of peace and righteousness Without beginning, without ending, without genealogy He met the patriarch returning from the war Abraham gave tithes and Melchizedek blessed him more No record of his father, no record of his birth No record of his dying on this broken earth He remains...like the Son of God...a priest forever Neither time nor death has ever severed You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek A priest forever Higher than any law could set The old has passed away A better covenant, a better day You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek Consider how great this Melchizedek must be If Abraham the patriarch gave tithes so freely And Levi...who receives the tithes...was in Abraham's loins When the patriarch gave tithes the ranks were joined The lesser is blessed by the greater...it's always been this way And a better priesthood came when perfect faith displayed The law appointed men who died...but now behold A priest whose life could never, ever be controlled You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek A priest forever Higher than any law could set The old has passed away A better covenant, a better day You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek If the Levitical priesthood could have made us perfect Why would God have needed yet another Why would David speak of a different order Of a priest who was of a different measure The law perfected nothing...it could only point ahead The commandment weak and useless though it was daily said But now a priest arises not by law of flesh But by the power of an indestructible life instead You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek A priest forever Higher than any law could set The old has passed away A better covenant, a better day You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek He holds the priesthood permanently...never passing on He always lives to intercede, His work is never done Holy, blameless, unstained, from sinners set apart Exalted above the heavens with an undivided heart He has no need like those other priests to offer day by day For the sins of the people first, then His own to pay He offered up Himself...once...and that was all A single offering, eternal, standing over all You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek A priest forever Higher than any law could set The old has passed away A better covenant, a better day You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek The word of God's own oath...not just the law Appointed a Son made perfect evermore The oath came after and the oath replaces all A Son appointed priest who will never fall Forever and forever He stands at God's right hand Forever and forever...this is God's own plan You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek A priest forever Higher than any law could set The old has passed away A better covenant, a better day You are a priest forever After the order of Melchizedek A priest forever Forever, forever After the order Of Melchizedek

    A Better Covenant

    Hebrews 8:1-13; Jeremiah 31:31-34

    Lyrics

The main point of everything we're saying Is that we have a High Priest who is sitting At the right hand of the Majesty in heaven As minister of the true and holy sanctuary Not a tabernacle built by human hands But the one the Lord established by His plans The priests on earth only serve a shadow and a copy But our priest serves the substance...the reality A better covenant, built on better promises A better covenant, not like the one before Written not on stone but on hearts of living flesh A better covenant forevermore I will be your God and you will be My people Every one of you will know Me...high and low I will forgive your iniquity and remember it no more A better covenant, this is what He swore God found fault with the old and said, Behold the days The days were coming when He'd make a brand new way I will make a covenant with Israel and Judah Not like the one I made when I brought them from Egypt They broke that covenant...but I will write My law Not on tablets of stone but on the heart's deep core I will put it in their minds, I'll write it on their hearts I will be their God...the covenant imparts A better covenant, built on better promises A better covenant, not like the one before Written not on stone but on hearts of living flesh A better covenant forevermore I will be your God and you will be My people Every one of you will know Me...high and low I will forgive your iniquity and remember it no more A better covenant, this is what He swore No more will a man teach his neighbor...know the Lord No more will it be commanded from the Word For all of them shall know Me from the least unto the great I'll show mercy to their wrongdoings, not recall their slate The old covenant made obsolete by this new thing What is aging and growing old is ready to disappear A new and living way has been opened up for us By the blood of Jesus...this is why we trust A better covenant, built on better promises A better covenant, not like the one before Written not on stone but on hearts of living flesh A better covenant forevermore I will be your God and you will be My people Every one of you will know Me...high and low I will forgive your iniquity and remember it no more A better covenant, this is what He swore I was living under the weight of a failing law Every time I tried I found another flaw But the new covenant said it's not by keeping rules It's by the Spirit writing love in the heart's most hidden rooms Now His law is in me...it's not outside anymore A living, breathing love-life that He's placed within my core I know Him...not from secondhand or borrowed faith I know Him for myself...He gives His grace A better covenant, built on better promises A better covenant, not like the one before Written not on stone but on hearts of living flesh A better covenant forevermore I will be your God and you will be My people Every one of you will know Me...high and low I will forgive your iniquity and remember it no more A better covenant, this is what He swore He said I'll forgive I'll forgive And remember no more Remember no more His law is in us, in us Written in our hearts Written in our hearts A better covenant...a better way A better covenant...we shout today A better covenant, built on better promises A better covenant, not like the one before Written not on stone but on hearts of living flesh A better covenant forevermore I will be your God and you will be My people Every one of you will know Me...high and low I will forgive your iniquity and remember it no more A better covenant, this is what He swore A better covenant He swore it by His name A better covenant Forever it remains

    Shadow and Substance

    Hebrews 9:1-10

    Lyrics

They built it like He told them to... But it was pointing to something more... The first covenant had its regulations An earthly sanctuary for the nation The outer court with lampstand and the table The bread of the presence...holy, if they're able The curtain...and beyond it...the second room The Holy of Holies, set apart in gloom The golden altar, the ark, the mercy seat The cherubim of glory...the meeting of God's feet But it was a shadow Just a shadow of what was to come It was a shadow Pointing to the Substance, pointing to the Son The blood of bulls and goats could sanctify the flesh But it couldn't reach the conscience, couldn't give the rest It was a shadow Until the Shadow Maker came The priests went in and out to do their daily duties Morning and evening sacrifice and beauties But only the high priest went inside that holy room And only once a year with blood beneath the curtain's gloom For the sins of the people and himself in fear This was the Holy Spirit's way of making clear The way into the holy place was not yet thrown wide open Not while the first tent's order was still standing, still unbroken But it was a shadow Just a shadow of what was to come It was a shadow Pointing to the Substance, pointing to the Son The blood of bulls and goats could sanctify the flesh But it couldn't reach the conscience, couldn't give the rest It was a shadow Until the Shadow Maker came All those gifts and all those sacrifices offered year by year Could not perfect the conscience...couldn't take away the fear External regulations, food and drink and washings Imposed until the time of the new order's dawning But every candle flame was casting on the wall A shadow of a greater light that hovered over all Every lamb and every offering on the altar Was a shadow of the Lamb...the final altar But it was a shadow Just a shadow of what was to come It was a shadow Pointing to the Substance, pointing to the Son The blood of bulls and goats could sanctify the flesh But it couldn't reach the conscience, couldn't give the rest It was a shadow Until the Shadow Maker came I think about those priests who served with such devotion Day after day, their hearts filled with such emotion They knew the sacrifices never fully paid the debt There was something in their holy longing that was set On a hope they couldn't fully name or fully see A priest and sacrifice that could finally set them free They were reaching for the substance through the shadow's frame Till the Son of God arrived and everything would change But it was a shadow Just a shadow of what was to come It was a shadow Pointing to the Substance, pointing to the Son The blood of bulls and goats could sanctify the flesh But it couldn't reach the conscience, couldn't give the rest It was a shadow Until the Shadow Maker came Now the shadow has a face and it's the face of Jesus Now the shadow has a name and the name is Jesus All the types and images and all the law Were pointing toward the moment when the Lamb was slain for all The substance of every shadow is the Son of God The Holy of Holies opened by His blood No more shadow...walk in the light The Shadow Maker has arrived...the Substance is in sight But it was a shadow Just a shadow of what was to come It was a shadow Pointing to the Substance, pointing to the Son The blood of bulls and goats could sanctify the flesh But it couldn't reach the conscience, couldn't give the rest It was a shadow Until the Shadow Maker came The shadow is gone The Substance has come The shadow is gone The Substance...His Son

    By His Own Blood

    Hebrews 9:11-28

    Lyrics

Not by the blood of another... Not by the blood of an animal... But by His own blood... He entered in... When Christ appeared as the High Priest of good things to come He entered through the greater and more perfect one Not a tent built by the hands of men on this earth But the eternal sanctuary of surpassing worth He entered once for all into the holy place Not by the blood of goats and calves...but by grace He entered by His own blood, shed on Calvary's tree And He obtained eternal, complete redemption for me By His own blood He entered in By His own blood He cleansed our sin Not a sacrifice repeated year by year But once...the blood of Jesus...purchased freedom here Eternal redemption...won and sealed Every wound of sin and guilt is healed By His own blood...He entered in The holy, perfect, once-for-all offering The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer Sprinkled on the unclean, made the flesh consider Sanctified and cleansed for the purification of the outer But how much more the blood of Christ...consider, consider Who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot To the living God...a sacrifice the law could not Purify your conscience from the dead and empty works To serve the living God...that's what His blood unlocks By His own blood He entered in By His own blood He cleansed our sin Not a sacrifice repeated year by year But once...the blood of Jesus...purchased freedom here Eternal redemption...won and sealed Every wound of sin and guilt is healed By His own blood...He entered in The holy, perfect, once-for-all offering He is the mediator of a covenant that's new So that those who are called may receive what God promised true The redemption from the transgressions under the first law Paid in full by His blood...covering every flaw Without the shedding of blood forgiveness cannot come But the greatest blood was shed by the Father's only Son Not the blood of animals but the precious blood of Christ Who died to give us the eternal and the life By His own blood He entered in By His own blood He cleansed our sin Not a sacrifice repeated year by year But once...the blood of Jesus...purchased freedom here Eternal redemption...won and sealed Every wound of sin and guilt is healed By His own blood...He entered in The holy, perfect, once-for-all offering He appeared once at the end of the ages to put away sin By the sacrifice of Himself...the offering As it is appointed once for men to die And after that the judgment...so He came to satisfy The Christ was offered once to bear the sins of the many Now He appears a second time...do you have any Doubt that He is coming? He will come again Not to deal with sin...but to save us to the end By His own blood He entered in By His own blood He cleansed our sin Not a sacrifice repeated year by year But once...the blood of Jesus...purchased freedom here Eternal redemption...won and sealed Every wound of sin and guilt is healed By His own blood...He entered in The holy, perfect, once-for-all offering The blood of Jesus speaks a better word A better word than Abel's blood that cried The blood of Jesus pleads before the throne The blood of Jesus intercedes for His own It cleanses us from every sin and shame It purifies in the power of His name By His own blood...we overcome By His own blood...the victory's won By His own blood He entered in By His own blood He cleansed our sin Not a sacrifice repeated year by year But once...the blood of Jesus...purchased freedom here Eternal redemption...won and sealed Every wound of sin and guilt is healed By His own blood...He entered in The holy, perfect, once-for-all offering By His own blood By His own blood Eternal redemption By His own blood

    Once For All

    Hebrews 10:1-18

    Lyrics

The law was only a shadow of the good things to come Not the form of reality...just the sound of the drum Year after year the same sacrifices were laid But those sacrifices could never fully take away If they could take away the sin...tell me why Would they keep on sacrificing year by year, tell me why They were only a reminder of the sin still remaining But the blood of bulls and goats had no power for the cleansing Once for all...the debt is paid Once for all...the price was made One sacrifice, one offering, one Son Once for all...the victory's won The veil is torn, the way is clear Once for all...He offered Himself here Every sin...covered and sealed Once for all...by the cross He was revealed Then the Christ came into the world and He said In the scroll of the book it is written of Me I have come to do Your will, O God You did not desire sacrifice...You wanted the Son He abolished the first to establish the second A will...a testament...He beckoned By that single will we are sanctified through The offering of the body of Jesus...that's the truth Once for all...the debt is paid Once for all...the price was made One sacrifice, one offering, one Son Once for all...the victory's won The veil is torn, the way is clear Once for all...He offered Himself here Every sin...covered and sealed Once for all...by the cross He was revealed Every other priest stands daily doing their work Offering the same old sacrifices...never done But this priest...after offering one sacrifice for sin Sat down...forever...at the right hand of Him Now He's waiting until His enemies become A footstool for His feet...the battle's won For by one single offering He has perfected forever Those who are being sanctified...never severed Once for all...the debt is paid Once for all...the price was made One sacrifice, one offering, one Son Once for all...the victory's won The veil is torn, the way is clear Once for all...He offered Himself here Every sin...covered and sealed Once for all...by the cross He was revealed The Holy Spirit also testifies to us today This is the covenant I'll make with them, He says I'll put My laws upon their hearts and minds And their sins and lawless deeds I'll leave behind Where there is forgiveness...hear me...where there's forgiveness given There is no longer any offering for the living No more sacrifice...no more offering for sin It is finished...He is seated...enter in Once for all...the debt is paid Once for all...the price was made One sacrifice, one offering, one Son Once for all...the victory's won The veil is torn, the way is clear Once for all...He offered Himself here Every sin...covered and sealed Once for all...by the cross He was revealed It is finished...it is done No more striving...He has won Sit down, rest, the work is through He did it all...He did it for you Once for all...the debt is paid Once for all...the price was made One sacrifice, one offering, one Son Once for all...the victory's won The veil is torn, the way is clear Once for all...He offered Himself here Every sin...covered and sealed Once for all...by the cross He was revealed Once for all Once for all It is finished Once for all

    Draw Near

    Hebrews 10:19-25

    Lyrics

There was a time the veil hung thick and dark That separated sinful man from God's own heart The holiest of places, set apart Was not for us to enter...we could never start But He has torn that veil in two, from top to floor He opened up a new and living way through the door Through His flesh...the veil is now the way The curtain's gone...we're invited in to stay Draw near, draw near Come boldly to the throne of grace Draw near, draw near There's mercy waiting in this place With a true heart, full assurance, washed and clean With a conscience free from guilt by what He means Draw near, draw near The way is open...come We have a great Priest over the house of God Let us hold fast to the confession that we've held Not wavering, for He who promised...He is faithful He will not abandon what His hands have helped Consider how to stir each other up To love and to the good works filling up Not neglecting to meet and gather together But encouraging each other now more than ever Draw near, draw near Come boldly to the throne of grace Draw near, draw near There's mercy waiting in this place With a true heart, full assurance, washed and clean With a conscience free from guilt by what He means Draw near, draw near The way is open...come The sprinkling of the blood on every guilty soul The washing of the water, making us whole He has consecrated for us a living way Not through gold or temple gates but through His grace The confidence we have is in His blood alone Not our performance or our effort or our stone We come in Jesus...not in our own name And find the throne of grace exactly the same Draw near, draw near Come boldly to the throne of grace Draw near, draw near There's mercy waiting in this place With a true heart, full assurance, washed and clean With a conscience free from guilt by what He means Draw near, draw near The way is open...come When shame whispers that I'm not allowed inside When guilt tells me I have no right to come and hide I remember what the blood of Jesus says about me It says I'm clean, it says I'm free, it says come So I walk through fear with confidence in His name I approach the Father knowing nothing is the same The veil is gone, the way is open wide By His blood...I'm welcome...come inside Draw near, draw near Come boldly to the throne of grace Draw near, draw near There's mercy waiting in this place With a true heart, full assurance, washed and clean With a conscience free from guilt by what He means Draw near, draw near The way is open...come Father, I'm drawing near Through Jesus I draw near With all my weakness, all my fear Through Jesus I draw near The way is clear, the door is wide Your arms are open...let me inside Draw near, draw near I'm coming home Draw near, draw near Come boldly to the throne of grace Draw near, draw near There's mercy waiting in this place With a true heart, full assurance, washed and clean With a conscience free from guilt by what He means Draw near, draw near The way is open...come Draw near Draw near The way is open Draw near

Do Not Throw Away Your Confidence

    Hebrews 10:26-39

    Lyrics

Don't throw it away... Don't you throw it away... Let me take you back to when you first believed When the fire of the Spirit had you on your knees You accepted the word and the light came in And you willingly let go of everything Then they came for you...ridicule and shame Publicly exposed but you stayed in the game They took your property, your comfort, your crowd But you had joy because your portion was a cloud Of something greater...a better and lasting possession You showed compassion for those in the prison You stayed in the fight through the suffering and pain Cause you knew that the reward would be greater than the strain Don't throw away your confidence It has a great reward Don't throw away your confidence You need to trust the Lord You need endurance...hold on through the night The righteous shall live by faith...not by sight Don't throw away...don't throw it away Because if we go on sinning after the knowledge we've been given There's no more sacrifice left for the living Only a fearful expectation of judgment's fire For those who've trampled on the Son and called Him a liar It's not a threat...it's a wake-up call...don't sleep The enemy comes to steal and kill and creep But the God who says Vengeance is Mine, I will repay Is the same God calling out to you today Remember the early days...remember the cost When you stood your ground though everything was lost Don't let all of that become a footnote in the dust You ran so strong back then...now come on, trust Don't throw away your confidence It has a great reward Don't throw away your confidence You need to trust the Lord You need endurance...hold on through the night The righteous shall live by faith...not by sight Don't throw away...don't throw it away For yet a little while, the one coming will come And will not delay...the Father's not done But My righteous one shall live by faith And if he shrinks back, I take no pleasure, He said straight But we are not of those who shrink back and are lost We are the ones who keep the faith at every cost We are of those who have faith and preserve the soul The ones who finished what they started, made it whole So let the endurance work and have its way You have a need for it right here, right now, today After you have done the will of God...after you've obeyed You will receive the promise...every single word He said Don't throw away your confidence It has a great reward Don't throw away your confidence You need to trust the Lord You need endurance...hold on through the night The righteous shall live by faith...not by sight Don't throw away...don't throw it away I'm talking to the one who's been suffering long Who wonders if God sees you and if He's still strong I'm talking to the one who started out on fire Who's watching now as everyone else climbs higher Don't you shrink back...don't you pull away The reward is real and it's not far away Just a little while...just a little while Keep your confidence...and keep your mile Don't throw away your confidence It has a great reward Don't throw away your confidence You need to trust the Lord You need endurance...hold on through the night The righteous shall live by faith...not by sight Don't throw away...don't throw it away Don't throw it away The reward is real Don't throw it away Hold on and feel The righteous shall live by faith By faith By faith

    Faith (The Evidence)

    Hebrews 11:1-3; Romans 4:20-21

    Lyrics

There is a knowledge that no eye has seen A certainty that lies beyond the screen Of what is visible and what is touched and known A confidence in what has not yet been shown It's not a hope that wishes things were so It's an assurance in the things that we can't know By sight...but faith holds them sure and strong The evidence of things unseen all along Faith is the substance of what we hope for Faith is the evidence of things not seen By faith the ancients received their testimony By faith we understand what these things mean The universe was framed by the Word of God What is seen was made from the unseen Faith is the evidence...the evidence Of the glory of the things we have not seen Without this faith it is impossible to please The God who made the heavens and the seas For anyone who would draw near to Him must first believe That He exists and that He gives to those who seek He rewards the ones who seek Him earnestly Who search for Him and find Him faithfully This is the foundation of the life with God Faith that steps into the unseen and walks toward Faith is the substance of what we hope for Faith is the evidence of things not seen By faith the ancients received their testimony By faith we understand what these things mean The universe was framed by the Word of God What is seen was made from the unseen Faith is the evidence...the evidence Of the glory of the things we have not seen By faith we know the ages were prepared By the word of God before a moment was declared The visible came from the invisible command The cosmos called to being by the Father's hand So faith aligns with how the world was made Not blind...but seeing with the eyes of grace The invisible realities that shape the things we see Faith is the evidence...the key Faith is the substance of what we hope for Faith is the evidence of things not seen By faith the ancients received their testimony By faith we understand what these things mean The universe was framed by the Word of God What is seen was made from the unseen Faith is the evidence...the evidence Of the glory of the things we have not seen Abraham believed and did not waver Though his body and Sarah's womb were past the favor Of natural expectation...yet in faith He gave glory to God, believing in His grace Fully convinced that what He promised He would do That God who speaks is God who sees it through This is faith...not wishful thinking in the dark But a confident and evidence-bearing heart Faith is the substance of what we hope for Faith is the evidence of things not seen By faith the ancients received their testimony By faith we understand what these things mean The universe was framed by the Word of God What is seen was made from the unseen Faith is the evidence...the evidence Of the glory of the things we have not seen I believe in the One I have not seen I believe in the promises He has given me I believe that the unseen is more real Than anything these broken eyes can feel By faith I walk, by faith I stand By faith I take the Father's hand And the evidence of everything I hope for Is the faith He placed within my soul Faith is the substance of what we hope for Faith is the evidence of things not seen By faith the ancients received their testimony By faith we understand what these things mean The universe was framed by the Word of God What is seen was made from the unseen Faith is the evidence...the evidence Of the glory of the things we have not seen By faith, by faith We understand By faith, by faith We trust His hand Faith is the evidence Of the things unseen

    Lyrics

By faith Abel offered a more acceptable sacrifice By faith he spoke...and through his death still cries By faith Enoch walked with God and never saw the grave God took him because his faithfulness was brave By faith Noah...warned of unseen things to come Built an ark and saved his household, every one He condemned the world and became an heir Of the righteousness that only faith can wear By faith, by faith, they walked by faith By faith they moved through the unseen days They did not receive the promise in their years But they saw it from a distance and gave God their tears A cloud of witnesses surrounds us now By faith, by faith...they kept their vow By faith Abraham obeyed and went out Not knowing where he was going...no map, no route He lived in tents as in a foreign land He was looking for a city built by God's own hand By faith Sarah received power to conceive Past the age of bearing...but she chose to believe She considered Him who promised to be faithful still And from one man came a multitude who fill The stars of heaven and the sand upon the shore By faith...by faith...they were looking for something more By faith, by faith, they walked by faith By faith they moved through the unseen days They did not receive the promise in their years But they saw it from a distance and gave God their tears A cloud of witnesses surrounds us now By faith, by faith...they kept their vow By faith Abraham offered up his only son The son of promise...his beloved one He reasoned that God could raise the dead And figuratively he received him back instead By faith Moses left the treasure of Egypt behind Choosing mistreatment...keep that in mind He regarded the reproach of Christ as greater wealth Than all the treasures Egypt could provide by stealth By faith he kept the Passover and the blood By faith he passed through the sea and saw it flood On the armies of the king...he chose the unseen reward And walked by faith in the sight of the Lord By faith, by faith, they walked by faith By faith they moved through the unseen days They did not receive the promise in their years But they saw it from a distance and gave God their tears A cloud of witnesses surrounds us now By faith, by faith...they kept their vow By faith the walls of Jericho came falling down By faith the harlot Rahab was not swept from the ground What more shall I say...for time would fail me now Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah...they kept their vow David and Samuel and the prophets of old Who through faith conquered kingdoms, too great to be told Stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the raging fire Escaped the sword in the darkest hour And others were tortured and refused release That they might obtain a better resurrection peace Mocked and flogged and imprisoned for His name Stoned and sawn in two and killed...they endured the shame Of whom the world was not worthy...not worthy at all Wandering the earth, homeless, waiting for the call By faith, by faith, they walked by faith By faith they moved through the unseen days They did not receive the promise in their years But they saw it from a distance and gave God their tears A cloud of witnesses surrounds us now By faith, by faith...they kept their vow All these faithful ones, though commended through their years Did not receive what was promised...but still they persevered God had something better planned...it needed us to come Apart from us they would not be made perfect...all as one Now together we are running toward the finish line Held together by a faith that bridges space and time A great cloud of witnesses is watching every stride All of heaven is cheering...keep your faith alive By faith, by faith, they walked by faith By faith they moved through the unseen days They did not receive the promise in their years But they saw it from a distance and gave God their tears A cloud of witnesses surrounds us now By faith, by faith...they kept their vow By faith...Abel still speaks By faith...Enoch still walks By faith...Noah still stands By faith...Abraham obeys By faith...they all obtained The testimony of the Lord By faith...by faith...by faith

Therefore...because of everything they gave Because of every martyr and every grave Of every life laid down for the unseen promise We are surrounded by a great and holy chorus So let us lay aside the weight that slows us down The sin that clings so close, the extra pounds Of everything that pulls us from the pace Let's strip it off and run...we've got a race Run the race, run the race With endurance run the race that's set before us Fix your eyes, fix your eyes On Jesus...the Author and the Finisher He endured the cross, He despised the shame He sat down at the right hand...glory to His name Run the race...don't grow weary now Run the race...let's keep our vow He is the Author and the Finisher of faith He ran the race before us...set the pace For the joy that was set before Him...He endured The cross, the shame, the hatred...He secured His seat at the right hand of the throne Now consider Him...you're not running alone He endured so you would not grow weary and faint Consider Jesus...He endured every complaint Run the race, run the race With endurance run the race that's set before us Fix your eyes, fix your eyes On Jesus...the Author and the Finisher He endured the cross, He despised the shame He sat down at the right hand...glory to His name Run the race...don't grow weary now Run the race...let's keep our vow The weight might be reputation...let it go The sin might be the comfort in the status quo The sin that clings might be the fear of what they'll say The distraction of tomorrow or the failure of today Strip it all and lighten up the load The race is set...God mapped out this road You were made to run this...born for this track Don't stop, don't stumble, don't you look back Run the race, run the race With endurance run the race that's set before us Fix your eyes, fix your eyes On Jesus...the Author and the Finisher He endured the cross, He despised the shame He sat down at the right hand...glory to His name Run the race...don't grow weary now Run the race...let's keep our vow Abel ran it...he died and still speaks Enoch ran it...he walked till God took him Noah ran it through the mockery of men Abraham ran past his homeland into the unseen Moses ran past the treasure and the throne All the prophets ran on roads alone Now it's our turn...the baton in our hand With a cloud of witnesses...let's take our stand Run the race, run the race With endurance run the race that's set before us Fix your eyes, fix your eyes On Jesus...the Author and the Finisher He endured the cross, He despised the shame He sat down at the right hand...glory to His name Run the race...don't grow weary now Run the race...let's keep our vow He ran for us...now we run for Him He gave His all...so we give everything Eyes on Jesus...the race is almost done Eyes on Jesus...the crown has been won Run...don't stop...we're going all the way Run...don't stop...this is our day Run the race, run the race With endurance run the race that's set before us Fix your eyes, fix your eyes On Jesus...the Author and the Finisher He endured the cross, He despised the shame He sat down at the right hand...glory to His name Run the race...don't grow weary now Run the race...let's keep our vow Run the race Don't grow weary Fix your eyes On Jesus Run the race He's the Author Run the race And Finisher

    Don't Despise the Discipline

    Hebrews 12:4-17; Proverbs 3:11-12

    Lyrics

The Lord disciplines the one He loves... And He loves you... In your fighting against sin, have you resisted yet To the point of shedding blood...has it been that set Have you forgotten what it says to you as sons In that exhortation from the Ancient One My son, do not regard lightly the discipline Of the Lord...don't grow weary being reproved by Him For the Lord disciplines the one that He loves And chastises every son He is so proud of Don't despise the discipline of the Lord Don't give up when He corrects you with His word He is treating you as sons...that's what this means The painful path of love is not what it seems After the season of pain comes the peaceful fruit Of righteousness...the character, the root Don't despise the discipline He disciplines because He loves Endure this hardship as discipline, my friend God is treating you as sons...this isn't the end What son is there that a father doesn't discipline If you're left without it you were never really in The family...you're outside without the fold But sons receive the loving correction of the old Our earthly fathers disciplined us as they thought best But God disciplines for our good...to pass the test Don't despise the discipline of the Lord Don't give up when He corrects you with His word He is treating you as sons...that's what this means The painful path of love is not what it seems After the season of pain comes the peaceful fruit Of righteousness...the character, the root Don't despise the discipline He disciplines because He loves No discipline seems pleasant in the moment of the pain It's not a pleasant thing...I will not lie again But later it yields the quiet and the peace The harvest of a righteousness that will never cease For those who have been trained by it...they know That the suffering produced a gentle, patient glow The father who loves you will not let you stay the same He's making you more holy...that's His aim Don't despise the discipline of the Lord Don't give up when He corrects you with His word He is treating you as sons...that's what this means The painful path of love is not what it seems After the season of pain comes the peaceful fruit Of righteousness...the character, the root Don't despise the discipline He disciplines because He loves Therefore lift the drooping hands and feeble knees Make straight the paths so the lame may not freeze But be healed...and pursue peace with everyone And the holiness without which no one sees the Son See to it that no one falls from the grace of God That no bitter root springs up to poison the sod Don't sell your birthright for a single bowl of stew Like Esau did...don't exchange the eternal for the new Don't despise the discipline of the Lord Don't give up when He corrects you with His word He is treating you as sons...that's what this means The painful path of love is not what it seems After the season of pain comes the peaceful fruit Of righteousness...the character, the root Don't despise the discipline He disciplines because He loves I have walked through the valley of His correction I have cried out and questioned His direction But when I came out the other side I found That the suffering was love pressing me down Into something better than I was before A deeper trust, a softer heart, an open door I don't despise the discipline anymore It was love...it was love that took me to the core Don't despise the discipline of the Lord Don't give up when He corrects you with His word He is treating you as sons...that's what this means The painful path of love is not what it seems After the season of pain comes the peaceful fruit Of righteousness...the character, the root Don't despise the discipline He disciplines because He loves He disciplines the ones He loves He loves you Don't despise it Don't give up

    An Unshakeable Kingdom

    Hebrews 12:18-29

    Lyrics

You have not come to the mountain that can be touched... You have come to Mount Zion... You have not come to what may be touched or seen Not the mountain blazing, wrapped in fire and steam Not the darkness, gloom, and tempest of that day Not the trumpet blast that shook them with its weight Not the voice whose words made the hearers beg Speak no more to us...they trembled at the edge Even Moses said I tremble and I fear That mountain could be touched...but not by sinners here But you have come to Mount Zion To the city of the living God The heavenly Jerusalem Where the angels gather in their multitude To the assembly of the firstborn Enrolled in heaven's great command To God the Judge of all And to Jesus...Mediator...where we stand You have come to the spirits of the righteous Those made perfect in the blood of the Son To Jesus the mediator of the new covenant And to the blood He shed that never can be undone It speaks a better word where Abel's blood accused It pleads for mercy — grace that can't be refused Do not refuse Him who is speaking now See to it that you do not refuse His vow But you have come to Mount Zion To the city of the living God The heavenly Jerusalem Where the angels gather in their multitude To the assembly of the firstborn Enrolled in heaven's great command To God the Judge of all And to Jesus...Mediator...where we stand At Sinai the earth trembled and was shaken The voice of God made all the people quaken Now He has promised once more...once and for all He will shake not just the earth but heaven's hall So that what cannot be shaken will remain Every shadow and every type will be made plain The unshakeable will stand when all else falls The eternal kingdom will outlast it all But you have come to Mount Zion To the city of the living God The heavenly Jerusalem Where the angels gather in their multitude To the assembly of the firstborn Enrolled in heaven's great command To God the Judge of all And to Jesus...Mediator...where we stand Therefore...receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken Let us give thanks for this gift that we are taking And worship God acceptably...with reverence and with awe For our God is a consuming fire...that's the law Not a tame and passive presence on a shelf But the holy, blazing glory of Himself He who could shake both heaven and earth below Is the One who holds the kingdom that we know But you have come to Mount Zion To the city of the living God The heavenly Jerusalem Where the angels gather in their multitude To the assembly of the firstborn Enrolled in heaven's great command To God the Judge of all And to Jesus...Mediator...where we stand We are receiving an unshakeable kingdom Heaven and earth will pass away But the kingdom of the Son stands forever Consuming fire...and yet...He bids us stay Approach with reverence, approach with holy awe The consuming fire invites us to draw near Through the blood of the covenant...we stand before the fire And the fire is not our ruin...it is His love made clear But you have come to Mount Zion To the city of the living God The heavenly Jerusalem Where the angels gather in their multitude To the assembly of the firstborn Enrolled in heaven's great command To God the Judge of all And to Jesus...Mediator...where we stand An unshakeable kingdom Cannot be shaken An unshakeable kingdom Eternally taken Our God is a consuming fire Our God is a consuming fire

Let brotherly love continue in this place Show hospitality to the strangers in this race Remember those in prison as bound with them still Honor marriage, keep the bed pure and holy...His will Be free from the love of money...He's enough He said, I will never leave you...not through the rough I will never forsake you...that's His word The Lord is my helper...I will not be stirred We will go to Him outside the camp Outside the camp, outside the camp Bearing the reproach He bore Outside the gate, outside the gate Here we have no lasting city We seek the city that is to come We will go to Him outside the camp And offer praise...the fruit of our lips...to the Son Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today And forever...do not be carried away By strange teachings about food and special laws Grace is what we stand on...grace is the cause We have an altar from which those who serve The tabernacle have no right to take or deserve Jesus suffered outside the gate for us To sanctify His people through His blood...that's our trust We will go to Him outside the camp Outside the camp, outside the camp Bearing the reproach He bore Outside the gate, outside the gate Here we have no lasting city We seek the city that is to come We will go to Him outside the camp And offer praise...the fruit of our lips...to the Son Through Him then let us continually offer A sacrifice of praise to God...not as an afterthought The fruit of lips that acknowledge His great name In every season, in every joy and pain Do not neglect to do good and to share For such sacrifices please God...take care Obey your leaders and submit to their call They keep watch over your souls as those who answer for all We will go to Him outside the camp Outside the camp, outside the camp Bearing the reproach He bore Outside the gate, outside the gate Here we have no lasting city We seek the city that is to come We will go to Him outside the camp And offer praise...the fruit of our lips...to the Son Jesus Christ the same...He never changes From the first word to the last...He rearranges Our whole understanding of who God is and where He's found Not in temples built of stone but on holy ground Wherever Jesus is...there is the holy place Outside the city gates...outside the race Of comfort and of reputation and the crowd We follow Jesus outside...and we're not ashamed or bowed We will go to Him outside the camp Outside the camp, outside the camp Bearing the reproach He bore Outside the gate, outside the gate Here we have no lasting city We seek the city that is to come We will go to Him outside the camp And offer praise...the fruit of our lips...to the Son Now the God of peace who brought again from the dead Our Lord Jesus...the great Shepherd of the sheep By the blood of the eternal covenant He led His people to the promise He would keep Make us perfect in every good work to do His will Working in us what is pleasing in His sight Through Jesus Christ...to Him be glory forever still Amen...Amen...in the power of His might We will go to Him outside the camp Outside the camp, outside the camp Bearing the reproach He bore Outside the gate, outside the gate Here we have no lasting city We seek the city that is to come We will go to Him outside the camp And offer praise...the fruit of our lips...to the Son Outside the camp We follow Jesus Outside the gate We bear His reproach Here we have no lasting city We seek the one to come To Him be glory Through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen
